You must read this before you create your WordPress site
Høgskolen i Buskerud Vestfold uses WordPress as publishing tool in some study courses where knowledge about publishing tools is relevant.
When you create your WordPress site, you must choose the privacy level of your site.
One of the principals of the Personal Data Act (personopplysningsloven) is the right to control the flow of information about oneself (Personal Data Act §§ 1 , §§ 8 and 9. All posting in WordPress is based on self-determination and volunteering.
HBV will give training and guidance regarding the use of the site. When a user terminates his/her relationship with HBV, the users WordPress Site will be deleted after a period of three months.
The user’s responsability
Regarding the content which is posted on your site, you as a user must use what is called digital judgement. Personal data is information which can be linked to a single individual. You can choose what kind of personal data you wish to post.
Personal or sensitive data about others is not to be published on this site. The site must also not be used for anything which violates Norwegian law, or anything which goes against the HBV IT regulations. Exam hand-ins must be uploaded to Fronter. Students who are deployed in their teacher training practice is not to use WordPress for documents regarding the training practice. Such documents are to be uploaded to the teacher training practice folder in Fronter.
The HBV WordPress site may at times be down. There can be various reasons for this, such as maintenance or other problems. There is as such no guarantee of 100% uptime.
There is also no guarantee that data loss may not occur. Therefore you should have a backup of all your site content.
When you terminate or finish your relationship at HBV, you have a period of three months in which to copy the content from your site that you wish to keep.
